Our forensic video methodology
A rigorous, systematic approach to digital evidence. We operate under strict principles of scientific validation, absolute neutrality, and continuous chain-of-custody tracking to deliver analysis that stands up to critical cross-examination.
Secure intake & custody
The process begins with secure evidence submission. We establish a verified chain of custody, creating bit-stream forensic duplicates of the original storage media or files. The original evidence is immediately archived and sealed, ensuring that all analytical steps are performed strictly on working copies to prevent any risk of original file alteration.
Technical metadata audit
We extract and analyze the underlying file structure, container formats, codecs, and embedded metadata. This step helps identify the recording device parameters, software markers, and temporal properties. Discrepancies between file metadata and the actual video stream often serve as the first indicators of modification or re-rendering.
Frame-by-frame verification
Our analysts conduct a detailed visual and mathematical study of the video stream. We check for compression inconsistencies, double-quantization artifacts, light source anomalies, and frame rate irregularities. This deep inspection is critical for identifying spliced frames, inserted objects, or deepfake manipulations.
Clarification & enhancement (if required)
If the footage suffers from poor lighting, camera shake, or low resolution, we apply non-destructive enhancement techniques. This includes frame-averaging to reduce sensor noise, spatial filtering to improve edge definition, and perspective correction. Every enhancement step is documented with mathematical precision so that it can be independently reproduced.
Reporting & expert testimony
The final phase is the preparation of a formal forensic report. This document details the precise methodology, tools utilized, and specific analytical findings. Our experts are prepared to present these findings clearly in a court of law, explaining complex digital concepts in straightforward, objective terms.
Adherence to strict standards
Forensic science is defined by its reproducibility. We do not use proprietary "black box" methods that cannot be peer-reviewed or independently verified. All tools, algorithms, and procedures we utilize conform strictly to international digital forensic guidelines.
Our commitment to objective truth means we never alter the facts to suit a specific narrative. Whether our findings support your case or highlight weaknesses in the evidence, we provide clear, unbiased assessments that allow you to make informed decisions.
